Clinical Service Designer
This role is fundamental to our vision of becoming a virtual NHS trust and entering the self-pay market, focusing on the strategic design, development, and optimisation of our digital clinical services. Sitting within the Product team, the Clinical Service Designer will work at the intersection of clinical strategy, technology, and operations to create seamless, effective, and user-centric virtual care pathways. This individual will be instrumental in expanding our service offerings and ensuring they align with national healthcare strategies, driving innovation and continuous improvement across all clinical services.

Essential Criteria;
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
* Must hold a clinical qualification (e.g., Nurse, Allied Health Professional, Doctor).
EXPERIENCE
* Direct experience working in a clinical capacity within the NHS.
* Proven experience in clinical service design and improvement, preferably within a virtual or digital healthcare environment.
* Project management experience, ideally within the NHS or a digital health provider.
* Demonstrable experience managing technology-led change projects.
* Experience working collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical staff to map and redesign care pathways.
* A strong track record of optimising operational processes and improving service delivery.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to engage both clinical and technical teams.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
* In-depth knowledge of NHS structures, clinical pathways, and the national digital strategy.
* Strong project management, organisational, and planning skills.
* Ability to apply service design principles and user-centred methodologies within a clinical context.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to interpret data trends to guide service improvements.
* A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
* A proactive and insightful approach to identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Within this position, you will mainly be;
* New Service Roadmap & Development: Define and deliver the new service delivery roadmap. Collaborate directly with Clinical Leads to design and develop new virtual clinical services—initiating with primary care, ENT, women's health, ophthalmology, and PIFU (Patient Initiated Follow Up)—with the goal of achieving comprehensive medical condition coverage.
* NHS Digital Integration & Project Management: Spearhead the strategy and execution of critical NHS Digital integrations. Own the project lifecycle from initial planning and process mapping to final delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance and working in close partnership with the development team.
* Service Optimisation & Strategic Alignment: Drive the continuous optimisation of existing services for both NHS and AXA partners, using data trends and insights to guide improvements. Work closely with operational teams to ensure our platform's functionality aligns with the national virtual NHS strategy and attend monthly clinical service review meetings to gather crucial service design insights.
* Operational Insight & Process Improvement: Participate in virtual service mobilisations to gain firsthand insights into service delivery. Translate these insights into actionable process improvements for both service design and operational workflows.
* Risk Management Contribution: Attend product risk review meetings to represent new service design elements, highlighting and mitigating potential clinical and operational risks from the outset.
* Product Team Collaboration: Act as a core member of the Product team, representing the clinical voice in product design to ensure all development is safe, effective, and meets the needs of clinicians and patients.
