The role of the Ward Clerk is extremely varied. Some of the key tasks include:
1. Being the first point of contact for patients, relatives, and staff both face to face and on the telephone.
2. Maintaining patients' case notes to an excellent standard.
3. Supporting the clinical teams with admin duties to allow them to provide hands-on patient care.
4. Updating and maintaining electronic inpatient records.
5. Booking follow-up appointments for patients after discharge.
6. Providing an efficient and effective administration service to the entire ward.

Lascelles Ward is a 13-bed mixed-sex ward specializing in inpatient rehabilitation for adults with neurological conditions such as head injuries, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, motor neurone disease, Guillain-Barre syndrome, and stroke patients.
The successful candidate will need excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize a workload that can vary throughout a busy day.
