Job Description:
Our esteemed client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking a proficient Mechanical Inspector to join their certification team at the Stevenage site. In this role, you will be responsible for authorising the product in compliance with our product certification procedure, thereby playing a pivotal role in ensuring product quality and safety.
What we're looking for:
* Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship (TR23/TR21) or HNC qualification.
* Proactive problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to teamwork and achieving business goals.
* Significant experience in Mechanical Inspection.
* Several years of experience as a skilled professional in the field.
* Preferably IPC 610 certified/trained.
What you'll get to do as a Mechanical Inspector:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring product certification and compliance with all associated procedures in line with the product certification process. This includes conducting thorough inspections of products for correct assembly, finish quality, physical damage, and faulty finishing or painting using specialized inspection tools. Additionally, you will monitor product certification operators, segregate defect items from good products, and maintain all relevant data records, defect reports, and inspection/quality control documentation. Regular audits will be conducted to maintain product certification and approval. You will ensure inspection times are met, uphold high standards of workmanship and product quality, maintain a safe working environment, and support process improvement initiatives.
Note: Our client requires all employees to obtain the necessary clearance pertinent to their roles.
Additional benefits: Up to £1,600 per month for accommodation if you do not live within 30 miles of Stevenage. Full apprenticeship required.
