The Role: We are currently recruiting an experienced and compassionate Female Healthcare Assistant to support a child under 4 with complex care needs during night shifts. This is a rewarding role for someone with a genuine passion for providing high-quality care. You will work closely with the child’s family and the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, person-centred care while supporting emotional well-being and development. Comprehensive in-house training and an induction programme will be provided, led by our Nurse Manager, to ensure you are fully equipped with the skills and knowledge required to deliver the highest standard of care. Key responsibilities include: Providing care for a child with a chromosomal diagnosis Seizure monitoring, including recognising early signs and responding in line with their care plan Administration of paraldehyde during seizure episodes (training provided) Gastrostomy (G-tube) feeding and administering medications via the gastrostomy Supporting nebuliser treatments as required Oral suctioning to maintain a clear airway Supporting communication needs for a non-verbal child Assisting with all mobility needs Safe manual handling for all transfers, following appropriate techniques and use of a ceiling hoist Providing comfort, positioning, stimulation, and age-appropriate interaction as part of their daily routine Available Shift Patterns: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – 22:00 – 07:00 (increasing to 5 nights per week within 8 weeks) Essential: Knowledge of infection control, Gastrostomy feeding, seizure management and experience in paediatric complex care. Work closely with the Nurse Manager Team to provide quality care to a paediatric client. Commit to a regular working pattern and collaborate with Care Coordinators for effective care delivery. Build rapport with clients and families, working within the family home to achieve individual goals. Potential for growth and development into a supervisor or management role. Requirements Experience in paediatric complex care Experience in delivering care to complex clients, preferably in the community. Experience in Seizure Management is preferred Right to work in the UK. UK driving license and access to own vehicle. Compassion, confidence, and a gentle caring nature.
