About the Project
Sizewell C (SZC) is at the heart of the UK's clean energy revolution. This ground-breaking nuclear power plant project in Suffolk will play a vital role in delivering a sustainable future. Backed by EDF and the UK Government, Sizewell C is a once-in-a-generation project with significant opportunities to innovate, grow, and deliver excellence.
The Role
The Project Manager reports directly to a Senior Project Manager and is responsible for leading activities associated with the full life cycle delivery of a contract or work package.
You will ensure the delivery of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities in accordance with the project schedule, safety, quality, time, and cost parameters. Responsibilities may include the design and delivery of construction works, site roads, reinforced concrete structures, and more, to enable subsequent scopes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Define the work scope within the contract or package, including interfaces with other programme elements.
2. Ensure the delivery of the List of Deliverables (LOD).
3. Lead and manage on-site project activities, adhering to timelines and budgets.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones.
5. Implement best practices in project management for efficiency and quality.
6. Oversee contractor and subcontractor activities, ensuring safety and compliance.
7. Identify and mitigate project risks proactively.
What You'll Bring:
* Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure or energy projects (minimum £20 million), such as HS2, HPC, Thames Tideway, CrossRail, TfL.
* Strong problem-solving skills and proactive challenge resolution.
* Experience managing contractors, consultants, and advisors in regulated environments, familiar with NEC or FIDIC contracts.
* Experience in programme development and resource management.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to engage diverse internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience with NEC contracts and multi-program construction backgrounds.
* Knowledge of PWR design and operations is advantageous.
* Ability to handle complex issues and adapt in fast-paced, changing environments.
* Experience working in heavily regulated environments.
Preferred qualifications include a degree or chartered status in engineering, construction management, or related fields, along with knowledge of CDM regulations, PRINCE2 or APM certifications, Primavera P6, CSCS, and SMSTS cards.
