Are you passionate about laundry and take pride in meticulous presentation? Do you enjoy working behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly? We’re looking for a dedicated Laundry & Housekeeping Assistant to join a small, friendly team in a busy and welcoming private household.
About the Role:
This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring the family’s laundry and housekeeping needs are met to the highest standards. You’ll be responsible for everything from washing and pressing garments to maintaining guest bedrooms and assisting during events. You’ll work closely with other household staff to ensure the home is always immaculate and well-prepared.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Wash, press, and care for all household laundry and linens
2. Iron garments with precision, especially principal’s shirts
3. Steam seasonal clothing and manage dry cleaning needs
4. Maintain wardrobe and valeting standards
5. Organise and care for butler linen, kitchen linens, and chef whites
6. Basic sewing and repairs (buttons, hems, etc.)
7. Monitor and manage laundry supplies and linen stock
8. Assist with housekeeping duties, especially during events
9. Support unpacking after family holidays and deep cleaning during quiet periods

16. Previous experience in a housekeeping or laundry role is a plus
17. Reliable transport is essential due to rural location
