Role Overview
Preston Volkswagen – Sales Manager (Permanent)
Salary: Up to £70,000 OTE (basic £45,000‑£55,000 DOE plus bonus)
Hours: 44 Hours – Mon to Fri 9:00‑18:00 (one late finish to 19:00 and a day off midweek), Sat 9:00‑17:00, Sun 11:00‑15:00 (rota basis)
As Sales Manager, you will act as a role model for customer service excellence for the team, always leading by example. You will develop long‑lasting, meaningful relationships with our customers and coach and motivate the team to do so too. You will report into the General Manager.
Responsibilities
* Managing the full sales process, from web inquiry to phone & showroom
* Managing staff performance from structured 1‑2‑1s to training & development
* Implementing department targets and brand KPIs
* Responsible for buying in vehicles and up‑to‑date stock pricing
* Ensuring full FCA compliance within the Sales Department
* Managing and owning Customer Satisfaction
Qualifications & Experience
You will have prior experience in a similar premium automotive environment with a proven track record in transactional sales and delivering exceptional customer service experiences.
You will be able to demonstrate experience in leading a highly motivated team and know how to get the best out of each team member.
Experience monitoring financial performance against budget and the ability to identify and address any shortfalls promptly is a must.
You should understand finance and insurance product regulations and have excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate a sale.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
