What is ‘Time for You’?

Time for You brings SAMH, academic partners and Qwell together to provide different options of accessible psychological wellbeing and mental health support.

Time for You is for anyone aged 16 and over, living in Scotland and experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns and offers three types of support:

1. Self-management support: Access to a moderated community forum, self-help tools, resources and text-based counselling via the online platform, Qwell.
2. Wellbeing Coaching: Working with a SAMH Wellbeing Practitioner using evidence-based cognitive behavioural coaching to increase awareness and develop tools, skills and strategies to achieve personal goals with a client’s mental wellbeing.
3. Talking Therapy: Working with a Trainee Psychologist or Counsellor using a therapeutic approach to target mental health concerns, whilst exploring tools for managing mental health and providing counselling for clients.

About the Role

Piloting an innovative place-based Time for You model, this role will deliver Time for You support to individuals referred through selected GP practices in Fife. As an integrated part of the GP practice, you will build positive professional relationships with the practice staff to build awareness of the pilot and encourage referrals. The pilot will initially begin in a GP practice in Dunfermline, however this may expand across the term of the contract to other practices across Fife.

As a Wellbeing Practitioner, you will be empowering people to improve their wellbeing, resilience and mental health through psychological wellbeing coaching. Using evidence-based cognitive behavioural coaching models, you will support clients to explore and work towards the goals which are important to them during this transition. You will predominantly work with clients on a 1:1 basis, offering coaching within a time-limited structure.
