Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they’re likely to die from.
You’ll join Marie Curie’s Research, Policy and Public Affairs Directorate, a team dedicated to improving end-of-life care and tackling inequalities across the UK. The team works with governments, the NHS, social care organisations, researchers and people with lived experience to influence policy, shape national conversations and deliver lasting change.
As Research, Policy & Public Affairs Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the team’s policy development and influencing work. From coordinating events and communications to helping develop policy proposals and engaging stakeholders, you’ll help ensure the team operates effectively and that our work reaches the people who can make change happen. Your work will help amplify the voices of people affected by death, dying and bereavement and contribute to campaigns and policy initiatives that improve care and support across the UK.
Your Impact:
* Provide administrative and coordination support to the Research, Policy and Public Affairs team to ensure projects and activities run smoothly.

* Assist with communications activity, including website content and social media updates.
* Provide diary management and administrative support to the Associate Director for Policy & Public Affairs (England).
* Work collaboratively with colleagues across the charity and external partners including researchers, policymakers and charities.
Key Criteria:
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
* Experience providing administrative or office support.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and build effective relationships.
* Previous experience supporting events or stakeholder engagement activities.
* Experience processing finances or managing budgets.
* An interest in policy, research or public affairs, particularly in health, social care or social justice.
* Understanding of parliamentary or policy processes and/or knowledge of health, social care or end-of-life care issues will be an asset.
