The Role
Workingwithin our nursing team, the post holder will be an integral member of amulti-disciplinary team of clinicians and recovery practitioners, workingacross our adult drug and alcohol service. The role will include a wide rangeof activities including supporting us to achieve and maintain micro-eliminationof Hepatitis C for our service, hospital alcohol liaison, conducting health andwellbeing assessments, supporting ambulatory (community) alcoholdetoxification, and Buvidal administration.

About us
The Service
ViaRedbridge is an established, integrated community service delivered acrossseveral provisions in the Borough. The service consists of both clinical andpsychosocial elements and is CQC registered to provide a range of clinicalinterventions including BBV and health interventions, OST prescribing,community detox, a recovery hub, a family and friends service, and service userinvolvement provision.
Together we offer a wide range of pharmacological,psychosocial, recovery-orientated, health focused and inpatient interventionsthat support individuals and their families who wish to receive advice,assessment, and treatment for their drug and alcohol related needs.
Our adult drug and alcohol service is co-located withother Via services, including our smoking cessation, and peoples substancemisuse and sexual health teams.

Job responsibilities
Role Purpose
4. To deliver excellent drug and alcohol services to those who use our services and their significant others, including family members friends and carers, to facilitate positive outcomes.
5. Where indicated, undertake community alcohol detoxification, support Opiate detoxification and titration in the community and refer for specialist inpatient services including liaising with hospital and inpatient unit staff.
6. Support outreach work across the borough, particularly around alcohol misuse.
7. Lead on Harm Reduction approaches within the service, including helping to reduce the spread of BBVs via testing and immunization schemes.
8. Deliver general healthcare support, including Wound Care, ECGs, healthcare assessments, and other similar activity.
9. Undertake basic life support/ anaphylaxis training so you are confident and competent to manage a medical emergency including the administration of emergency drugs.
Key duties and activities of the role
10. Provide high quality, person centred, low threshold services, responding to the individual and diverse needs and preferences of people and their significant others.
11. Deliver evidence-based clinical and psychosocial one-to-one and group interventions as part of an effectively integrated care package. Take an assertive approach to service user disengagement.
12. Deliver harm reduction advice, guidance and education. To include blood borne virus interventions (screening, vaccination and treatment access), overdose prevention including naloxone programs, health and wellbeing screening brief and facilitated signposting and referral to partner services, including primary care.
13. Enable people to access education and employment services and health, wellbeing and recovery support activities and to signpost to other available services.
14. Support students, volunteers, peer mentors and service user representatives to take an active part in Via services.
15. Identify risks and take appropriate action in accordance with local, national and organisational Safeguarding policies, contributing to multi-disciplinary review meetings.
16. Maintain accurate and timely records using the designated case management system in compliance with Via Information Governance policies and procedures.
17. Work flexibly, including across multiple sites and peripatetically when required.

Essential
18. Passion for and understanding of working with substance misuse services or with other socially excluded or vulnerable groups. With a proven ability to meet deadlines, record information accurately and in a timely way and to work calmly under pressure.
19. Great team working, communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrating a highly cooperative approach to supporting colleagues and the whole team to deliver Service objectives, as well as in working directly with people and their significant others.
20. Demonstrable ability to deliver an excellent quality level of service to people with complex needs. This includes the ability to work with people on a one-to one basis or to facilitate group sessions, to be able to complete assessments, care and support plans, risk assessments and to complete case recording to a high standard and in a timely way.
21. Good IT skills including use of Microsoft Office programs and digital meeting platforms and Case Management Systems like Nebula, System One or Theseus.
22. A demonstrable understanding of the Health and Social Care regulatory requirements of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), National Institute for Clinical Excellence standards for Health and Social Care and any other relevant bodies.
23. Demonstrable commitment to working in partnership with other professionals such as criminal justice agencies, community groups and other stakeholders to achieve good outcomes for people.
24. The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in different settings ( written, spoken, presented, etc) and to different groups of people.

25. Registered nurse (RMN, RGN or Learning Disabilities Nurse) with a current active PIN number.
