Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Part‑Time Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Kirkham, a category D Prison located in Kirkham, Preston.
The prison has its own Healthcare department where you will be based; the primary care team consists of 10 staff. HMP Kirkham has a capacity of 700 males.

Hours
The role is a part‑time position working 29.5 hours per week with various shifts:
* Monday – Thursday: 8:00‑16:30 or 10:30‑19:00
* Friday: 8:00‑16:30
* Weekends: 8:00‑12:00 – one weekend in 4
Salary
This position is part‑time; you’ll receive an annual salary up to £34,428–£41,659 pro‑rata depending on experience.

Eligibility
Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK; offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main Duties
* Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver a nurse‑led service and prevent hospital admissions.
* Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
* Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse‑led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Provide outstanding evidence‑based care, seeking out, listening to and acting on patient feedback to deliver personalised, high‑quality care.
* Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference.
* Inspire excellence by forging strong links with partners and stakeholders.
* Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence‑based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
* Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care and build strong multi‑disciplinary teams.

Qualifications Required
* Registered Nurse (Adult) – NMC
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working
* A non‑judgemental and compassionate approach
* Excellent communication skills
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
