We are seeking a Children’s Home Registered Manager for our one-bed home in Barnsley.
Main Purpose of Job
The Registered Manager is responsible for the daily management of the home, ensuring high-quality care, promoting the rights of young people, and complying with organizational policies and procedures.
The manager will lead a team of care workers, ensuring good outcomes for young people’s physical, psychological, emotional, and social development, in line with legislation and guidance.
Contribute to the ethos, values, and aims of the organization.
Accountable to:
Responsible individuals and Operational Directors
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Service and Practice:
* Develop and deliver high-quality care in accordance with legislation, regulations, Ofsted SCIFF, and organizational policies, ensuring anti-discriminatory practices and safeguarding.
* Ensure health and safety compliance and staff training.
* Maintain records and implement monitoring systems.
* Provide management information and statistical data.
* Innovate childcare approaches and represent the organization in senior meetings.
* Participate in on-call duties, including sleep-in shifts if needed.
* Write reports and oversee communication standards.
* Make decisions when appropriate and oversee admissions/discharges.
* Lead change initiatives aligned with organizational ethos.
* Hold a relevant Diploma or work towards one.
Human Resource Management:
* Recruitment and staff checks.
* Induction, supervision, and appraisal of staff.
* Ensure ongoing professional development and mandatory training.
* Manage rotas and expenses.
* Handle grievances, complaints, and disciplinary matters.
Management of Physical and Financial Resources:
* Monitor budgets and financial transactions.
* Maintain premises and equipment.
External Affairs:
* Promote the organization externally.
* Coordinate with commissioners and referral managers.
* Lead forums and meetings.
Required Attributes:
