Wood is recruiting for a Tank Welder for a 6‑month contract on a heavy industry tank project, based at a client site in Teesside, starting April 2026.

The Role
Location: Teesside
Hours of work: 10 hours per day (9.5 hours paid)
Work pattern: 12‑day fortnight
Duration: 6 months
This is an fixed term Trade & Craft role supporting tank and structural steel welding works within a heavy industrial environment.
Applicants must have proven tank welding experience.
Skills/Qualifications
You will bring proven tank welding experience, a strong safety mindset, and pride in delivering quality work on complex industrial projects.
1. Proven experience as a Tank Welder in heavy industry
2. Competent in TIG and MMA (Stick) welding
3. Experience using Arc Air Gouging
4. Demonstrable experience on tank welding projects
5. Experience welding structural steel
6. Background working in heavy industry (. petrochemical, power, process, heavy engineering)
7. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Welding
8. CCSNG Safety Passport
9. PAss a pre-employment medical
10. Pass a pre-employment weld test
