About the Role: The Fundraising Engagement Officer will play a crucial role in building relationships, boosting community participation, and supporting fundraising initiatives for Kids Operating Room. This position will concentrate on outreach, donor reporting, event coordination, and partnership growth across sectors, including universities, civic organisations, schools, and community groups. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Centre for Global Operations (CfGO) Tours & Visitor Engagement · Act as the primary host for CfGO tours, ensuring they are engaging and aligned with fundraising objectives. · Manage tour logistics, including bookings, team and material preparation, and visitor follow-up, to include companies. Community Fundraising & Engagement · Respond to inbound community fundraising enquiries and provide stewardship to supporters. · Develop fundraising packs, storytelling materials, and social media assets. · Develop outreach for community events and fundraising initiatives. · Build and maintain regional relationships with clubs, organisations, and faith groups. · Track community fundraising pipeline and assist with income forecasting. Universities & Student Engagement · Represent Kids Operating Room at freshers’ fairs, university events, and student conferences. · Build partnerships with societies, medical groups, and RAG committees. · Coordinate guest lectures, student fundraising activities, and campus collaborations. Rotary Clubs & Civic Organisations · Organise and deliver presentations to Rotary clubs, church groups, and civic societies. · Expand Rotary engagement across Scotland and develop district-level opportunities. · Create a calendar of civic presentations and nurture ‘Civic Champions.’ Schools Outreach · Organise & deliver assemblies and classroom talks to inspire student involvement. · Support simple school fundraising activities such as sponsored events and bake sales. · Develop and distribute a comprehensive ‘Schools Pack.’ Trusts & Foundations Research Support · Update and expand research lists for trusts and foundations. · Conduct initial prospect research and draft letters of intent or applications. · Prepare briefing notes for meetings and identify fundraising opportunities at events. Event Support · Assist with KidsOR events, including breakfasts, civic engagements, and CfGO visits. · Manage guest lists and represent the organisation at public events when required. CRM & Administrative Support · Log outreach activities and maintain accurate records. · Pass warm community contacts to the Individual Giving Manager for stewardship. · Track civic group calendars and manage follow-up cycles. · Undertake reconciliation of CRM · Apply for Gift Aid · Writing thank you letters for donors Reporting · Support and develop the standardisation of reporting processes for trusts and foundations, including scholarship fund updates. Necessary Skills and Attributes: · Strong communication and presentation skills. · Experienced in CRM Systems (ideally Raiser’s Edge). · Ability to build and maintain relationships across diverse groups. · Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects. · Passion for global health and charitable fundraising.
