Hours of work: Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm (Flexi Applies)
Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to Natural Environment Division (NED) planning teams. Lead and manage tasks which contribute to the achievement of DAERA statutory planning targets and Business Plan objectives. Gather information,liaising with other teams across NIEA and outside bodies as required, to draft well researched and accurate advice to management / departmental officials on planning matters including enquiries and complaints, within deadline and within policy and governance guidelines. This includes drafting responses to Elected Representatives’ planning related enquiries. Communicate effectively orally and in writing in a clear, succinct manner using appropriate styles to maximise understanding and meet the needs of the customer. Update Excel spreadsheet trackers used to monitor correspondence response performance. Develop and maintain well-co-ordinated and focused relationships with Natural Environment Division (NED) administrative and management staff as well as Departmental senior management and key decision makers. Ensure internal teams are kept up to date with progress of cases. Implement procedures and update guidance to improve and enhance delivery of service were possible and as required. Effectively manage own resources to achieve deadlines.
Essential Criteria applicants must have:
Proof of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths grade C or above or the equivalent to this.
Proof of 3 A-levels or the equivalent to this.
Awareness ofadministration and drafting of letters and reports.
Good knowledge in using Microsoft Tools including Word, Excel and Teams.
Excellent IT skills, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent communication skills.
Proven ability to use own initiative.
