GP with Special Interest (GPwSI) in Dermatology
Hours: Flexible sessions available
Contract: Part-time / sessional
Responsibilities
We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced GPs with a Special Interest in Dermatology to join our expanding Community Dermatology Service.
This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality dermatological care closer to home for patients, working alongside a supportive team of GPwSIs, dermatology nurse, and with oversight and advice from a Consultant Dermatologist.
Our community clinic provides assessment, diagnosis, and management of benign skin conditions, inflammatory dermatoses, and benign skin lumps. Minor surgery is available on site.
This service does not manage suspected skin cancers; all cases requiring 2-week-wait assessment are escalated to secondary care.
As a GPwSI in Dermatology, you will:
* Deliver high-quality dermatology consultations within a community setting
* Assess and treat common inflammatory skin conditions (e.g., eczema, acne, psoriasis, rosacea)
* Manage benign lesions and perform minor surgical procedures (e.g., excisions, punch biopsies, cryotherapy)
* Work collaboratively with other GPwSIs and seek consultant advice when required
* Participate in clinical governance, case discussions, and continuous quality improvement
