Overview
Lead trustee for safeguarding at SAASS Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. We support individuals affected by sexual assault and abuse to live fulfilling lives, providing a safe space and empowering approaches.
Responsibilities
* Advise and oversee the organisation's safeguarding strategic plan and related policies to ensure services are sustainable and able to meet growing demand safely.
* Ensure effective safeguarding policies and practices are in place across the organisation; champion safeguarding throughout the organisation.
* Collaborate with the CEO and safeguarding lead to manage safeguarding matters and contribute to strategic decisions.
* Support the management of any serious safeguarding cases as part of the board’s duties.
What we are looking for
* Relevant skills and professional experience in safeguarding adults and/or children.
* Up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and best practice related to safeguarding adults and/or children.
* Driven, enthusiastic and determined to make a positive impact. Prior charity trustee experience is not required; training will be provided.
Role details
* Role type: Trustee lead for safeguarding
* Time commitment: approximately 1–2 hours per month, plus regular catch-ups with the charity’s designated safeguarding lead and a trustee meeting on the third Wednesday of every other month (currently online).
* Flexibility is accounted for, with consideration for volunteers’ and trustees’ real-life commitments.
