The Role
As Health & Safety Manager, you will lead the site’s safety strategy, driving a culture of continuous improvement and compliance across all heavy industrial operations. You’ll be responsible for ensuring best-practice standards are implemented, risk assessments are robust, and all staff and contractors work safely and compliantly.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain the site’s H&S management systems (ISO 45001).
* Carry out regular risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
* Lead H&S training and continuous awareness campaigns across teams.
* Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
* Report on safety KPIs and compliance metrics to senior leadership.
* Foster a proactive safety culture that prioritises prevention, education, and accountability.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
* Strong working knowledge of health & safety legislation.
* Confident communicator capable of influencing at all levels of the business.
* Experience with behavioural safety and cultural change initiatives highly desirable.
