A vacancy at Northumbria Healthcare - NHCT Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. An exceptional Nurse and Educator is invited to join the Northumbria Health & Care Academy team as Module Lead for the brand new Registered Nursing Degree Apprenticeship Programme.
The post-holder will be an experienced educator with a strong clinical background, either working towards or holder of a post-graduate certificate in education. They will contextualise and develop teaching and learning resources relating to a University of Sunderland RNDA Module for delivery at the Academy, supported by the University of Sunderland RNDA Programme Lead and Academy Programme Lead. They will act as a personal tutor to a number of students, supporting the pastoral and academic development of up to 50 students on programme.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a contextualised version of the existing Registered Nursing Degree Apprenticeship currently delivered via the University.
* Develop teaching resources that align with both University Module Descriptors and Nursing and Midwifery Council standards for nursing education.
* Develop high-quality learning and teaching related to evidence-based nursing and research theory.
* Liaise regularly with the wider student support network, including people services, occupational health, apprenticeship services, practice education and clinical educators, practice assessors and supervisors Trust-wide.
* Support recruitment of students onto the programme, monitor progression, student experience and outcomes, and engage in quality improvement and evaluation of the apprenticeship.
* Maintain a clinical role by working as a registered nurse on a regular basis.
* Undertake a lead role in learning & teaching of academic and clinical programmes delivered at the Northumbria Health and Care Academy.
* Enhance the reputation of the Northumbria Health and Care Academy and University of Sunderland as a centre of excellence through teaching, reach-out and research activities in nursing and health-related topics.
* Model compassionate and inclusive leadership to shape a collective leadership culture within the Trust, using coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and facilitating teamwork across departments and organisational boundaries.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Registered nurse with active clinical practice.
* Experience in education/teaching and a strong clinical background.
* Working towards or holder of a post-graduate certificate in education.
