Job Overview The Bath Centre for Pain Services (BCPS) is part of the Chronic Pain Speciality at the Royal United Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Chronic Pain Speciality is one of the largest in the UK including Regional Pain Clinics (adults and children) and four National Services. The BCPS is a national lifespan service which provides intensive rehabilitation interventions for people of all ages (children to older adults) with complex pain associated disability. The treatment works to enable people to live their ‘best life’ in the presence of chronic pain. Working to improve function and enjoyment in life. The BCPS has a National and an International reputation for its clinical services, research and education programmes. Main duties of the job To work as part of the clinical, research and administration team of BCPS assisting in administration, service delivery and evaluation. Interventions are delivered on a group or individual basis. To collect patient data and maintain patient clinical data bases to national research standards and to assist the team in the analysis and interpretation of findings. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities Please find attached to the vacancy a detailed person specification and job description for further information about this role. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria 2:1 or higher degree in psychology Desirable criteria A Masters Level degree in a related subject. Experience Essential criteria Previous experience of data collection, literature searching and data analysis. Desirable criteria Previous relevant clinical / research experience Previous experience of group working in a clinical setting. Previous NHS experience Knowledge Essential criteria Sound competence of IT software including, Word, Excel and competent use of email and the internet. Desirable criteria Knowledge of data protection legislation and research governance requirements. Knowledge of SPSS, data base management and literature searches.
