The Role
As Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and expanding our relationship with key Chinese e-commerce clients.
You will act as the bridge between our operational teams, the client’s China-based and UK-based personnel, and our leadership team.
You’ll be responsible for day-to-day service performance, client communications, process optimisation, and supporting commercial expansion across the UK and international markets.
You’ll be hands-on, solution-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
With the majority of the client’s team speaking only Mandarin, your bilingual skills will be essential to ensuring seamless communication and world-class service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Client Relationship Management: Act as the main operational contact for the Chinese e-commerce clients, managing daily interactions and ensuring exceptional service standards.
* Service Performance: Oversee delivery performance, SLA adherence, and continuous improvement of operational processes.
* Bilingual Communication: Communicate fluently in Mandarin and English with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring cultural and operational alignment.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of Operations, COO, CRO, FD and tech support to execute growth initiatives and resolve challenges swiftly.
* Account Growth Support: Support strategic planning and commercial expansion of the account in the UK and internationally, identifying opportunities to scale services.
* Reporting & Insights: Monitor performance metrics, prepare weekly/monthly reports, and drive data-driven decision-making for the account.
* Stakeholder Training & Support: Help onboard and educate both client personnel and internal teams on processes, technology tools, and service expectations.
What We’re Looking For
* Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (verbal and written)
* 3-5 years of experience in logistics, transport, supply chain, or parcel delivery operations
* Proven experience managing large or complex customer accounts
* Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a startup mindset
* Analytical thinking with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
* Experience working with Chinese businesses or within the Asia-Europe logistics corridor is a strong plus
