Job Title: Roofing Buyer Location: Office-based (Woking) Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent Role Overview The Roofing Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement of all roofing and construction materials, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong negotiation skills, supplier management, and a detailed understanding of roofing systems and construction processes. Key Responsibilities * Procurement Management: Oversee purchasing of all roofing and construction materials, including tiles, slates, membrane systems, fixings, insulation, and other project-specific items. * Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to secure competitive pricing, reliable delivery, and quality products. * Cost Control: Manage procurement budgets across multiple projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising standards. * Inventory Management: Track and manage stock levels of critical materials to ensure continuous project supply. * Contract Negotiations: Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers and subcontractors. * Quality Assurance: Ensure all purchased materials comply with industry regulations, project specifications, and quality benchmarks. * Project Support: Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and stakeholders to understand and meet project material requirements. * Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate procurement records, monitor supplier performance, and produce regular reports. Requirements * Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist within the construction or roofing industry. * Strong knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and supply chains. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. * Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills. * Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
