Data and Analytics Quality Control Editor – London, United Kingdom.
Role Overview
Specialising in editing data‑rich content, the successful candidate will ensure all content is factually correct, accurate and ready for publication. The role involves editing a wide range of material from our global content and decision science teams, working with editors, sub‑editors, copywriters and data teams across multiple time zones.
Key Accountabilities
* Data forecasting and editing – analyse and fact‑check data from a variety of sources, including proprietary WGSN data.
* Ensure all data in forecasts is accurate, actionable and clear for industry users.
* Review data and analyses to identify and correct weaknesses that could undermine content quality.
* Collaborate with editorial, image, content and data teams to meet publishing deadlines.
* Maintain adherence to WGSN brand values, style guide and tone of voice.
* Guide and coach internal and external contributors to achieve high standards.
* Contribute to the development of editorial processes, formats and workflows.
* Train and support junior team members.
* Stay updated on global industry trends and leverage that knowledge to improve content quality.
* Monitor production flow and coordinate with editors and other stakeholders as needed.
* Cover for senior editors when required – handling enquiries, workflow queries and general publishing duties.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required
* Background in editing with meticulous fact‑checking, particularly quantitative data and data visualisation.
* Experience analysing and visualising data across multiple industries.
* Proficient in Excel and understanding of data analysis roles.
* Strong data‑storytelling skills and ability to question and refine data.
* Knowledge of time‑series data, summary statistics and visualisation best practices.
* Experience with Tableau or similar dashboards.
* Basic SQL knowledge.
* Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Monday, Hive, Smartsheets, etc.
* People‑management and interpersonal skills.
* Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Grammarly) for proofreading and editing.
* Excellent command of English, spelling and grammar.
* Highly organised and capable of juggling multiple deadlines across mediums and platforms.
