Job Description
Due to continued business growth, our marine client in Aberdeen is looking to add a Survey Engineer, on a permanent basis. As a Survey Engineer (Workshop), you will be working mainly onshore and will be responsible for ensuring all equipment is prepared and tested for offshore project deployments. The Survey Engineer (Workshop) is also responsible for the installation, successful operation and maintenance of client and customer-owned equipment on site.
The Successful Applicant
Essential:
1. HNC or higher in Electronic or ICT discipline, or equivalent qualification or field experience.
2. Minimum of 2-5 years ‘hands-on’ experience in a survey orientated electronic or ICT role.
3. Must have a full UK driving license.
4. Holds relevant offshore certification.
5. Extensive technical understanding and knowledge of the main survey equipment used in offshore survey sector.
6. Strong IT skills and good understanding of PC hardware.
7. Experience of working in the field and offshore as a Survey Engineer.
8. Knowledge of Logistics and Customs.
Desirable:
1. Sufficient offshore experience.
2. Working knowledge of Oil & Gas and Renewable industries technical specifications and standards.
Responsibilities
1. Prepare, test, and package equipment pre-deployment to company standards and procedures.
2. Liaise with equipment suppliers during project execution to ensure all equipment requirements are met.
3. Act as the initial point of contact for daily operations in the workshop.
4. Provide technical and operational support to operations team and field staff.
5. Liaise with Operations team to specify correct hardware and software for projects.
6. Assist with international mobilizations/demobilizations.
7. Installation, integration, and commissioning of equipment on customer sites.
8. Identify and troubleshoot issues with on-site equipment.
9. Complete first-line repairs to equipment.
10. Maintain and operate deployed company assets according to specified parameters.
11. Track all company assets relevant to projects while deployed.
12. Maintain records of setup/maintenance changes during deployment.
13. Ensure correct storage and packaging of deployed equipment.
14. Complete end-of-project reports, timesheets, and expense forms promptly.
15. Participate in technical reviews of project requirements.
16. Identify and mitigate equipment-related risks.
17. Participate in seeking improvements to methodology and technology.
18. Assist in the implementation of necessary processes and procedures.
19. Delegate tasks to junior team members and provide training and development.
20. Ensure workshop and warehouse environment meets HSE requirements.
21. Administer and manage specific project or workshop tasks.
22. Support business with out-of-hours working as required.
