Job title: Housekeeping Coordinator

Department: Estates and Property Services Directorate

Contract type: Permanent

Grade: 6

Location: Bloomsbury, London

Hours: 35 hours per week


About the Role

The Housekeeping Coordinator ensures the cleanliness, safety and overall well‑being of the SOAS environment, creating a welcoming and safe atmosphere for students, staff and visitors. Reporting directly to the Head of Housekeeping Services, the Coordinator works collaboratively within a dynamic team to deliver high‑quality, efficient services.

Key responsibilities include:

* Supporting the Head of Housekeeping Services to ensure consistent delivery of services;
* Monitoring compliance with SOAS health, safety and operational standards;
* Responding promptly to service requests while maintaining flexibility to meet the needs of the University;
* Collaborating with other departments to enhance operational efficiency.

This position requires a hands‑on approach, excellent communication skills across all levels of the SOAS community, a professional, diligent attitude and the ability to manage routine tasks efficiently.


Qualifications

* Friendly and approachable manner;
* Strong supervisory skills and ability to manage a variety of routine tasks;
* Proactive approach with the ability to respond swiftly to new demands;
* Experience within the higher education sector is an advantage.
