Healthcare Support Worker, Eating Disorders
Moortown, Leeds
£19,656 – £20,529.60 pro rata for 30 hours. Full time equivalent £24,570 – £25,662 per annum based on experience.
Must have a full UK manual licence, cannot accept provisional nor automatic. Must be willing to drive service car unsupervised.
Responsibilities
Work with young people aged 16–30 who have diagnosed eating disorders and other mental health needs. Support independence through education, household tasks, general life skills and medication management. Update online care records, administer medication and maintain the home environment. Support the transition to community life by helping with education routes, public transport and self‑administered medication. Attend training throughout employment, held on weekdays.
Qualifications
* Full UK manual driving licence
* Good written communication skills and the ability to write basic reports and record information accurately
* IT skills – use an online care system, complete forms, write emails, Microsoft Office
* Good verbal communication skills and the ability to listen to others
* Ability to remain calm in emergencies and support others in difficult situations
Desirable Criteria
* NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Care
* Previous experience of working with young people who have mental health needs
* An understanding of the issues young people face
