Overview
As a Television Licence Field Officer, you will visit customers currently without a TV licence at addresses throughout the Swansea area, helping them understand and comply with the legislation, explaining how they can obtain a licence, and enabling them to find a payment plan that works for them.
Location and hours
Location: Home-based; you will visit communities across your region, ideally living in the SA postcode areas. Working hours: 36.5-hour week on a flexible shift pattern, with potential for a four-day working week.
Salary and benefits (What’s in it for you?)
* Salary: £31,650 per year.
* Company car with personal use, or a £3,700 annual car allowance paid monthly.
* Mileage allowance paid in line with HMRC rates, including travel from home to the first visit and from the last visit back home each day.

Core Responsibilities
* Conduct door-to-door visits to properties where no TV licence is registered.
* Listen to customer reasons for not having a licence and determine next steps.
* Accurately record visit details and complete daily timesheets via the handheld device.
* Explain and promote the benefits of all licence payment schemes.
* Take and accurately record payment details.
* Attend court when required to give evidence in prosecution cases.
* Carry out work and attend meetings as directed by the Visiting Manager.
* Taking Records of Interview under caution.
What you’ll need to bring
* Full UK Driving Licence with at least one year of driving experience.
* Physical mobility to visit multiple locations daily.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with excellent written and verbal English; Welsh language skills are also valued.
* Similar previous experience is not essential; we welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds with excellent communication skills.
Training and support
Four weeks of engaging virtual classroom training and one-to-one training in your working location with a trainer. Two weeks of virtual classroom training cover key aspects to accelerate growth as a Visiting Officer. One-to-one field support follows, with hands-on exposure to customer interactions, technology usage, and processes. Ongoing management and coaching support to help you grow and progress within the business.
