Job Description FM Managing Surveyor Permanent Full Time Glasgow £73,000 inc car allowance Plus Excellent Package We are working with a growing and highly reputable facilities management contractor who are a genuinely fantastic company to work for, look after their staff well and have established and stable contracts nationwide. As the FM Managing Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the commercial delivery of our Service Division. Reporting to the Head of Commercial and collaborating closely with the Head of the Services Department, you will manage a diverse commercial workload while leading and developing a team of Commercial Staff. Your expertise will drive business improvements, ensure compliance, and help achieve P&L targets. The Role – Key Responsibilities Successfully managed a portfolio of framework FM contracts, including Distribution Centres, High Street Outlets, Historic Buildings, Further Education and Local Authorities with turnover projections exceeding £45m for 2025. Implemented business improvements that significantly enhanced operational efficiencies and compliance. Developed and maintained strong client relationships, leading to contract renewals and new business opportunities. Commercial Management: Oversee all commercial matters within the Service business to achieve P&L targets, implement business improvements, and drive efficiencies. Team Leadership: Support and develop the Commercial Team, providing guidance to manage commercial aspects of their workloads. Client Relations: Develop and maintain client relationships to ensure contract retention and explore future opportunities. Reporting: Provide monthly commercial reports on the financial status of each framework for review and sign-off by the Head of Commercial. Tendering: Support the tendering process for new framework opportunities. Contract Management: Draft and improve supply chain contracts for projects and PPMs. Process Improvement: Develop processes to create efficiencies and ensure compliance with FM requirements. Dispute Resolution: Assist account teams in resolving complex commercial matters and disputes. Financial Performance: Maximize contract margins by liaising with operations teams, preparing commercial reports, and ensuring best value from supply chain managers. The Person: Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of FM activities and small works. Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor teams. Client Management: Excellent client relationship management skills. Reporting & Analysis: Proficient in commercial reporting and financial analysis. Contract Management: Skilled in drafting and managing supply chain contracts. Process Improvement: Ability to develop and implement efficient processes. Problem Solving: Analytical and adaptable approach to problem-solving. Time Management: Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Previous experience in an FM contract environment. Familiarity with CAFM systems. Strong attention to detail. Experience in mentoring and supporting junior team members. Ability to respond well to competing priorities and demands.
