We have an exciting role on offer within our Resident and Business Support service as a Team Leader – Revenues and Benefits. About Us A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Resident and Business Support for two Revenues and Benefits Team Leaders. The roles are part of seven positions within the service and have day to day line management for individual areas of the business. The individual areas are Revenues, Benefits, Welfare Support, Housing Benefit Overpayments, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, however, all roles are interchangeable. The positions we are looking to recruit into will initially manage the Benefits team and the Welfare Support team. Benefits Team Leader: A current working knowledge of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction policies and legislation is essential. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring benefit payments are awarded within agreed performance measures, whilst ensuring accuracy of claims is maintained at all times. In addition, the postholder will be responsible for working with other internal departments to provide a consolidated financial support solution, whilst ensuring customers receive an excellent level of customer service when dealing with all services. Welfare Support Team Leader: A current working knowledge of benefits available either provided by the local authority or the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and legislation is essential, a knowledge of crisis support and free school meals would be desirable. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the residents of Middlesbrough are receiving any benefit support that they are entitled to, crisis awards and community awards are made where required, free school meal processes are followed to maximise entitlement and a holistic approach is taken to vulnerable residents ensuring all available support is provided working with other departments to deliver excellent customer service.
