Job overview
To undertake clinical and management responsibility for the nurses and recovery workers in Lambeth Community Drug and Alcohol Service and have an operational overview on the day to day running of the service. This will include ensuring the service is safe and effective, delivers on all performance targets and achieves positive outcomes with clients.
Main duties of the job
The Team Leader will oversee the ongoing development of recovery-focused and evidence-based interventions, meeting the needs of service users with complex physical, psychological, and social needs across Lambeth. Effective leadership, change management, proactive communication, and partnership development are essential.
Services are provided by a multidisciplinary team including Consultants, Doctors, Nurses, Psychologists, Recovery Workers, Peer Mentors, and Volunteers.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide leadership and management of staff within Lambeth, including induction, team building, and staff retention. Deputise for the Borough Lead as needed.
* Ensure clinical and line management supervision, appraisals, and staff development, maintaining high standards of client care.
* Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs and deliver interventions, including vaccinations and non-medical prescribing where qualified.
* Ensure service data and statistics are accurately produced and submitted for reporting purposes.
* Conduct audits to ensure compliance with standards and policies.
* Organise and participate in clinical and service development meetings.
* Promote service user and carer involvement.
* Review and develop clinical protocols and operational procedures.
* Manage human resources issues, including recruitment, performance management, and sickness management.
* Monitor expenditure and identify cost pressures.
* Identify service development opportunities and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
* Investigate complaints and incidents, implementing improvements as needed.
Personal Specification:
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with extensive post-qualification experience working with substance misuse.
* Post-qualification training related to substance use.
* MSC or Degree in relevant care field.
* Management qualification or senior-level experience.
Experience
* Leading projects within an addictions team.
* Managing staff in substance misuse and mental health settings.
* Delivering physical healthcare interventions.
* Assessment and casework for adults with substance misuse issues.
* Leading multidisciplinary teams.
* Supervising and appraising staff.
