Management Accountant (Part time) – 12-Month Fixed Term Contract Location: Cambridge At Rutherford Briant, we’re supporting a organisation within the insurance sector, recognised for its strong financial governance, collaborative culture, and commitment to continuous improvement. They are seeking a Management Accountant on a 6-month fixed-term contract to support the finance team through a busy period of reporting, analysis, and transformation activity.
As a Management Accountant, you will:
1. Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
2. Support the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insightful variance analysis and commentary.
3. Partner with business leaders to support commercial decision-making and identify cost-saving opportunities.
4. Assist with balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
5. Support audit preparation and contribute to a strong internal control environment.
6. Help drive process improvements within reporting, systems, and data integrity.
7. Provide ad hoc analysis and support across key projects, including finance transformation and automation initiatives.
As a Management Accountant, you will need:
8. Proven experience in a management accounting or similar finance role (insurance or financial services experience highly desirable).
9. Part or fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or qualified by experience.
10. Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
11. Confident communicator with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
12. Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP or reporting systems ( Oracle, SAP, Workday).
13. A proactive and adaptable approach, comfortable working in a fast-paced, change-driven environment.
