Unqualified Teaching Assistant – Halewood
Start Date: October 2025
Contract: Full-time (Monday to Friday, school hours)
Pay Rate: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for an unqualified Teaching Assistant to work in a primary or secondary school setting in the Halewood area, with roles beginning in October 2025. This position is ideal for individuals who are looking to start their career in education and are passionate about supporting children’s learning and development. No formal qualifications are required, but a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.
The role will involve supporting the class teacher with the delivery of lessons, working with small groups or individual pupils who require additional support, helping to manage classroom behaviour and creating a safe and engaging learning environment. You may also be required to assist during break or lunch duties and help prepare learning materials. This is a full-time position during term time and offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a school setting.
Responsibilities
* Support the class teacher with the delivery of lessons.
* Work with small groups or individual pupils who require additional support.
* Help manage classroom behaviour and create a safe, engaging learning environment.
* Assist during break or lunch duties and help prepare learning materials.
* Work as part of a team to support pupil learning and wellbeing.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Be confident, reliable, and have a genuine interest in working with children.
* Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Willing to complete CPDs to develop experience and skillset.
* Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
* Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
