Commercial Gas Engineer
South & West Yorkshire / Greater Manchester / Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire
up to £50-52K + Door-to-Door Travel + Overtime
A well-established building services provider is seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to support its growing engineering team across South & West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
Operating from Sheffield and Manchester, the company provides mechanical and HVAC services across a range of commercial environments including NHS sites, hospitality, fast-food outlets and student accommodation blocks.
Due to continued growth and long-term contract wins, they are now looking for an experienced all-round commercial gas engineer capable of handling installations, testing, servicing and maintenance.
The Role
The successful Commercial Gas Engineer will work across a range of commercial sites delivering both planned and reactive maintenance as well as installation work.
Key responsibilities include:
* Installation of commercial gas appliances and heating systems
* Servicing and maintenance of commercial boilers and heating plant
* Carrying out gas safety inspections and testing
* Fault finding and breakdown response
* Working on commercial sites including NHS buildings, retail and accommodation
* Ensuring high standards of health and safety compliance
This is a client-facing role, so professionalism and communication are key.
Working Hours & Benefits
* £20 – £25 per hour
* 40 hour working week
* 08:30 – 17:00 Monday to Friday
* Door-to-door travel paid
* Overtime at time and a half
* Double time on Sundays
* 1 in 10 call-out rota
* Standby allowance £10 per day
* 25 days holiday + bank holidays
* Additional holidays awarded for long service
Requirements
Applicants must have:
* 7–8+ years commercial gas engineering experience
* Experience with installation, servicing and testing
* Relevant ACS Commercial Gas qualifications
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* Full UK driving licence
* Experience working in commercial environments
Candidates should have a stable employment history and strong mechanical background.
