Job Description
We are looking for enthusiastic teachers who will be responsible for providing leadership, good management, and strategic direction to the school. The role involves conducting the affairs of the school to benefit pupils and the community it serves. The successful candidate will lead and manage whole school policy, its implementation, and evaluation. Additionally, they will manage and develop the school curriculum, learning, and teaching provisions to promote improved educational outcomes.
The post holder must demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the service and the organization.

Requirements
This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If you have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
The salary will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or be eligible for full registration with GTC Scotland. If qualified outside Scotland, please visit GTCS – Qualified Outside Scotland for registration guidance.
The grade for this position may be subject to annual review and adjustment in line with the SNCT Handbook, effective from 1st August each year.
Holding the Standard for Headship became a requirement for teachers taking up their first permanent headteacher post at Local Authority and grant-aided schools in Scotland from 1 August 2020, under Section 28 of the Education (Scotland) Act 2016. There are two exemptions: for those appointed on or before 1 August 2020, and for temporary appointments not exceeding 23 months after that date.
