Areas of Responsibility
* Manage and ensure the integrity of the Quality Management System to Automotive Standards
* Serve as the Principle Customer Interface for Audits and Customer Concerns
* Set the Strategic Direction of Newport's Quality System and Quality Culture
* Ensure conformance to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, VDA 6.3 Quality Standards
* Coordinate and manage the external audit plan with third-party audit bodies (LRQA)
* Represent Newport's Customer requirements, maintaining alignment with customer expectations
* Lead the ‘Customer First’ initiative, motivating staff to adopt a customer-focused mindset
* Manage the Customer complaint process, collaborating with engineering teams to investigate and resolve product or customer issues via 8D reports for Field returns (FARs) and Assembly Complaints
* Promote proactive processes such as FMEA, QCC, and 5S methods
* Maintain and drive innovation within Newport’s Document control systems
* Oversee Change Management as Chair of PCRB and Customer Representative (including PPAP process)
* Manage Material, chair LRB meetings, and oversee disposition of SU lots as Customer Representative
* Authorize all Document, CIM changes, Assembly notices, and Customer Alerts
* Lead and coordinate the execution of Customer onsite audits
* Conduct Management Reviews and provide weekly and monthly updates to roundtable and Corporate
* Report and analyze Quality Scorecard and trends during Operational Business Reviews, focusing on PPM rates, Zero Defect FARs, and QMS performance
* Define and manage QM team objectives with weekly one-on-ones
* Perform annual QM staff reviews
* Lead Supplier Management as Quality Lead via Quality Engineer
* Monitor Customer Satisfaction metrics and implement improvements, aiming for enhanced customer satisfaction through timely responses, zero defect mindset, and resolution of quality issues
* Define and manage the QA/QMS budget
Failure Analysis & Calibration
* Coach and mentor the Failure Analysis Manager and team (9 staff, 24/7 lab)
* Own Calibration and MSA systems
* Provide technical mentorship on FA methods and analysis
* Define and manage budgets for FA & Calibration
Requirements
Essential requirements
* Minimum 10 years’ senior management experience in Quality Engineering and Semiconductor Engineering
* Degree or higher education
* ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 Lead Auditor certification
* VDA 6.3 and Supplier Auditor certifications
* Deep knowledge of Quality Tools including APQP, FMEA, 5S, 8D, MSA, and SPC
* Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
* Excellent communication skills
* High level of customer-facing experience and competency
* Zero Defect Mindset
* Deep understanding of Semiconductor process technology
* Knowledge of Reliability and product performance
* Proficiency in Word, PPT, Excel, and other QMS systems
* Strong system and process thinking
Desirable requirements

* Experience in Automotive or Aerospace sectors
* Knowledge of EMS & SMS management systems integration (ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 45001)
