Divisional Manager - Legal Finance & Accounting
Ambition are supporting a global law firm with their recruitment for a Senior Assistant Accountant, to join their dynamic finance team in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional ideally with experience in professional services to contribute to strategic financial initiatives and support operational budget controls.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead preparation and review of period-end management accounts, including complex journal entries.
* Deliver monthly budget variance analysis and liaise with budget holders.
* Provide financial insights and support to project leads and stakeholders.
* Oversee VAT returns and cashflow forecasting.
* Maintain balance sheet controls and perform reconciliations.
* Prepare interest on capital schedules and coordinate budgeting/reforecasting processes.
* Support quarterly and annual ONS surveys and assist with audit documentation.
* Mentor junior team members and uphold financial compliance standards.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in a similar finance role, ideally within a professional services environment.
* Strong grasp of financial controls, reporting standards and compliance.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
* Excellent analytical and communication skills.
* Actively studying or qualified with AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
* A proactive, collaborative team player with a problem-solving mindset.
