Overview
Registered Nurse - Antenatal & Newborn Screening and Community Support
About the employer
The Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Support Project (SCTSP) is a long-established charity providing specialist support, education, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by sickle cell and thalassaemia across the West Midlands. We work closely with the NHS, local authorities, schools, and community partners to reduce health inequalities, raise awareness, and improve the quality of life for those living with haemoglobinopathies.
Role and responsibilities
* Delivering the NHS Antenatal & Newborn Screening Programme for sickle cell and thalassaemia.
* Providing sensitive, non-directive counselling and support to individuals, couples, and families.
* Supporting children, young people, and adults affected by these conditions from a community and social perspective.
* Working as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
What we are looking for
This is not a clinical intervention post – the emphasis is on screening, counselling, education, and community support. We are looking for a motivated, compassionate professional with excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to partnership working, and the ability to engage effectively with diverse communities.
