Overview
We are searching for a Planning Manager (Major Projects) to join the world's most efficient single-runway airport. You will be part of a collaborative team delivering a substantial investment plan to develop and enhance airport infrastructure and facilities. The airport's current projects range from £50m to £350m, including the International Departure Lounge (IDL) in the North and South Terminals, valued at over £500m, and a £140m extension to Pier 6. You will work closely with the Programme Manager to implement planning and assurance processes across a programme of projects typically valued in excess of £150m.
Your role is to lead planning across all project lifecycle stages, from concept approval to delivery and closeout, ensuring performance targets are met or exceeded on time.
What is the role?
Reporting to the Lead Planning Manager, you will take a key role in planning across all lifecycle stages. Your mission is to ensure on-time delivery and continuous performance improvements.
Responsibilities
* Create and maintain schedules for the entire project journey, manage control programmes from concept to closeout, evaluate contract programmes, assess compensation events, perform delay analyses, and drive schedule improvements through the supply chain.
* Lead and manage planning teams across the programme, applying knowledge and skills to multiple projects to achieve strategic goals.
* Develop the planning team by contributing to standards, and by mentoring, coaching and developing team members.
* Review the Programme, assist in trend and change processes, reporting, risk management, and identify efficiency improvements that impact programme outcomes and team performance.
* Uphold world-class health, safety, and environmental standards across the programme and its contractors.
Requirements
Skills and experience required include:
* Experience planning infrastructure projects as a Senior Planner on multi-year programmes within construction or infrastructure, with project/programmes typically over £100 million.
* Experience leading small teams.
* Extensive experience with Primavera P6 and related commercial acumen.
* Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to diverse stakeholders.
* Proven leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, facilitate, and create learning opportunities for others.
