About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional for the position of Head of Europe to lead and expand our pharmaceutical business operations across the European region. The ideal candidate will possess over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with strong expertise in Strategic Sourcing, Business Development, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain Management, Commercialization of New Products, and Tender Management.
This leadership role requires a commercially driven individual capable of driving sustainable growth, developing strategic partnerships, managing cross‑functional teams, and strengthening the organization’s market presence throughout Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
* Develop and execute the European business strategy aligned with the company’s global vision and growth objectives.
* Identify new business opportunities, market expansion plans, and strategic partnerships across Europe.
* Lead regional operations with a focus on profitability, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.
Business Development
* Drive business development initiatives for pharmaceutical products across regulated and semi-regulated markets.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, partners, healthcare institutions, and key stakeholders.
* Negotiate commercial agreements, strategic alliances, and long‑term business contracts.
Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain
* Oversee strategic sourcing activities to ensure cost‑effective procurement and uninterrupted supply.
* Manage supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and vendor performance.
* Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure efficient inventory management and timely product delivery.
Marketing & Sales
* Develop and implement regional marketing and sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities.
* Lead and mentor sales and marketing teams to enhance business performance and customer engagement.
Commercialization of New Products
* Lead product launch strategies and commercialization activities for new pharmaceutical products in Europe.
* Collaborate with regulatory, medical, and commercial teams to ensure successful market entry.
* Assess market potential, pricing strategies, and product positioning.
Tender Management
* Manage and oversee participation in government and institutional tenders across Europe.
* Ensure timely submission of tender documents in compliance with regional regulations.
* Develop strategies to maximize tender success rates and business opportunities.
Stakeholder & Team Management
* Build and lead high-performing cross‑functional teams.
* Foster a collaborative and performance‑driven work culture.
* Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to regional teams.
Required Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
* MBA or equivalent management qualification preferred.
* Minimum 20+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
* Proven experience in Strategic Sourcing, Business Development, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Commercialization, and Tender Handling.
* Strong understanding of European pharmaceutical markets and regulatory frameworks.
* Demonstrated leadership experience managing regional or international business operations.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong analytical, strategic planning, and decision‑making abilities.
