If so, Liquid Personnel is seeking a Supervising Social Worker to join its client’s fostering team in Birmingham.
Your Purpose:
As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality fostering service that supports the principles of the Every Child Matters framework. You’ll be responsible for supervising and supporting foster carers, managing your own caseload, and upholding the highest standards of care and safeguarding for looked-after children.
What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will be:
Supporting Foster Carers
1. Recruit, assess, and support foster carers to ensure they provide safe, loving, and enriching homes.
2. Deliver regular supervision, guidance, and training to foster carers.
3. Help carers meet their development goals and achieve their Training, Support & Development Standards.
Championing Children’s Wellbeing
4. Attend placement planning meetings and contribute to care plans.
5. Ensure children’s voices are heard and their needs are met.
6. Support transitions to independence and contribute to Pathway Plans.
Ensuring Quality and Compliance
7. Complete assessments, reviews, and statutory checks in line with regulations.
8. Maintain accurate records and respond promptly to safeguarding concerns.
9. Present reports to the Fostering Panel and ensure all documentation is up to date.
Collaborating and Advocating
10. Work closely with local authorities, schools, health professionals, and other stakeholders.
11. Participate in support groups, forums, and social events for carers and children.
12. Promote the agency’s values and uphold its strong reputation.

Qualifications & Experience:
To be successful in this role you must be:
18. A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
19. Experience in fostering or children’s services.
20. Strong communication, assessment, and relationship-building skills.
21. A commitment to safeguarding and continuous professional development.
