Assistant Accountant (Part-Time)
Location: Carbis Bay
Working Pattern: 3 days per week - 1 year fixed term contract
Salary: £32,000 pro rata
About the Role
We are a private care provider seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to support our finance function on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical accounting knowledge and experience working in a fast-paced environment, preferably within healthcare or a similar sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and post prepayments and accruals, ensuring accurate monthly financial reporting
* Provide support and overview to purchase ledger and sales ledger functions
* Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
* Support month-end and year-end close processes
* Ensure financial records are accurate and compliant with internal controls and accounting standards
* Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders as required
* Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation when needed
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
* Strong working knowledge of:
* Prepayments and accruals
* Purchase and sales ledger processes
* Management accounts preparation
* Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
* Proficiency in Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a part-time capacity
* AAT qualified level 3 or equivalent

* Experience working within a care provider or healthcare environment
