Job Description:
The Lead UX designer will work withBaltimore City IT (BCIT) agency partners and residents toiteratively design the City of Baltimore website with humancentereddesign practices.
You will:
Own the design process and standards for the BaltimoreCity website
Own and manage updates to the CitysDigital Style and Content Guide
Work with agencycontent managers and designers to identify user needs and ensureagency design and UX meets those needs
Lead andconduct user experience (UX) research and design
Lead design sessions to gain insights into userbehavior
Translate user insights into digitalinteractions
Create personas and other designprocess artifacts through user research and data
Define interaction models and evaluate success
Develop workflows wireframes and prototypes related touser needs
Visually design digital graphics userinterfaces and team presentations
Work closelywith the development team to build and test new experiences on theCity website
Build trust and partnerships byworking alongside agency partners
Help grow theCitys humancentered approaches and spread design best practices incollaboration with web professionals across City agencies
Education and Experience:
At a minimum you have:
Five (5) years of experience in user experience (UX) userinterface (UI) and/or service design; experience in digitalstrongly preferred
Deep empathy andunderstanding of equity and inclusiveness particularly as theseshow up in technology
Experience implementingaccessibility standards in digital products
Exceptional written verbal and visual communicationskills
