Closing Date: Sunday 8th March 2026

We believe that our strength is not just in our steel but the diversity of our workforce. Our people make the difference.
Do you know how to win work in competitive construction and industrial markets?
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to help grow our presence from our Shotton site.
If you've sold into construction, building envelope, manufacturing or distribution channels, you'll understand the landscape. Margins are tight. Competition is strong. Relationships matter. And you need to know where the next opportunity is coming from before your competitors do.
This role is about driving new business, not just maintaining existing accounts.
What you will do
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth through both new business acquisition and the development of existing customer relationships.
You will engage with contractors, developers, architects and specifiers, identifying projects early and positioning Tata Steel's products and services effectively. Working closely with internal commercial, technical and operational teams, you will ensure that customer requirements are understood and delivered.
You will take ownership of your pipeline, manage negotiations, and contribute to the development of strategic growth plans aligned to site and business objectives. Performance will be measured against clear commercial targets, and you will be expected to provide accurate forecasting and market insight.
What you will need
We are seeking a commercially astute individual with experience in business development, sales or account growth within manufacturing, construction products, steel or a related industrial sector.
You will bring:
A demonstrable track record of securing new business and delivering revenue growth
Experience working within competitive, tender-driven or specification-led markets
Strong negotiation and influencing skills
The ability to build long-term customer relationships based on trust and credibility
A structured and data-driven approach to pipeline and account management
While experience within roofing and cladding or building envelope products would be advantageous, we welcome applications from candidates within adjacent industrial sectors.
You will be self-motivated, resilient and comfortable operating in a performance-driven environment where accountability and delivery are key.
