Job Introduction
From 1 December 2025, our refreshed Pay and Reward package comes into effect, bringing a new approach to how we recognise and reward roles across the Council. This means the salary for this role will be changing. The pay range for this role will be £33,699 to £39,152 (pro rata for part time colleagues) from 1 December 2025.
New starters will be appointed to the bottom of the pay scale and pay protection is not applicable.

Housing Options Officer
18 month FTC
Want to help to help & support people to resolve their housing problems?
We are looking for enthusiastic Housing Options Officers to join our dynamic & innovative team providing housing advice & support to residents with housing problems. Experience of working with people in an advice or problem-solving capacity is required and we will offer opportunities for training and professional development.
This role will challenge you every day to use your excellent customer service and problem-solving skills within a supportive and motivated team, helping people in often complex and difficult situations, including homelessness.
This role involves working in an office, in the community and at home and requires face to face contact with customers.
If you can:
* Communicate effectively, to really understand a customer's needs and how to help to resolve their housing situation
* Have a holistic approach to problem solving customer needs
* Manage a caseload effectively within competing demands
* Collaborate with residents, other services and your colleagues & help them to find a lasting solution to their problem
* Understand homelessness prevention and support, proactively working to prevent housing crisis.
