A great opportunity for an experienced and driven Mechanical Project Manager to lead HVAC and pipework installations across retail and commercial environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in mechanical services, excellent project management skills, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end delivery of HVAC and pipework projects, from planning through to completion.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
* Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
* Oversee procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and cost control.
* Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with health and safety standards.
* Resolve project-related issues and implement risk mitigation strategies.
* Ensure all works comply with industry regulations and company standards.
* Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
* Prepare and present project reports to stakeholders and senior management.
Beneficial Skills / Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years’ experience managing HVAC and pipework projects, ideally within the retail sector.
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and chilled water systems.
* Experience working with subcontractors and managing multi-disciplinary teams.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
* Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD).
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
* Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or Construction Management.
* SMSTS or equivalent health and safety certification.
* Experience with energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC solutions.
