Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Gartree, a category B prison located in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. HMP Gartree has a capacity of 1,965 males. The pharmacy within the healthcare department is responsible for dispensing, ordering, prescription rewriting, stock control, and medication checks. The team consists of four staff members.
Hours
* Monday – Sunday service
* 37.5 hours per week
* Weekdays & weekends – 7.30 am – 5 pm
* 1 weekend in 4
* Flexible working days – open to discussion
Salary
This full‑time position offers an annual salary between £34,428 and £41,658, depending on experience.

Main Duties
* Provide outstanding, quality‑based, patient‑centred care to our patients by seeking, listening to, and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
* Ensure safe and secure medicines management, maintaining patient medical records to the agreed standard and following standard operating procedures to a high and orderly standard.
* Deliver non‑judgemental care within the scope of professional standards, including timely administration of medicines and analysing cost‑effective prescribing as defined through our unique Health in Justice medicines policy.
* Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Qualifications & Experience
* NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent.
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Up‑to‑date with continual professional development (CPD).
* Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures.
* Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment is ideal.
