1:1 Teaching Assistant Location: Middlesbrough Contract Type: Full-Time 5 days a week Mon to Fri 8.30 till 3.30/ Term-Time Only Pay: £90 to £110 per day Start Date: ASAP Are you a patient, empathetic, and resilient individual passionate about making a difference in a child's life? A welcoming Primary school in Middlesbrough is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support one of their pupils with complex needs. This is a rewarding role where you'll play a key part in helping the child feel safe, understood, and supported-both emotionally and academically. About the Role: Provide dedicated support on a 1:1 basis Assist with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and transitions throughout the day Support access to learning activities and adapt tasks where needed Use structure, consistency, and visual supports to meet the child's individual needs Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to implement strategies and interventions Monitor and record progress, triggers, and behaviours in line with school policyWe're Looking For: Experience working with children with SEN needs A calm, nurturing, and proactive approach to behaviour management Confidence in using behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques Good understanding of SEND A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning however relevant experience will be considered if you do not have the qualifications Team Teach or similar positive handling training (advantageous but not essential) Be able to provide references from the last 2 years of work history Hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to purchase oneWe Offer: A supportive and friendly consultant Access to ongoing training and professional development A well-resourced school with strong leadership and SEND support A real opportunity to make a positive impact in a child's school experienceIf you're passionate about inclusion and ready to support a children who need a consistent, caring adult by their side - we'd love to hear from you.
