Role Overview
As a Senior Medical Writer, reporting to a (Senior) Scientific Team Lead, you will manage the delivery of high-quality scientific content tailored to client needs, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness. You will contribute to strategic publication and communication plans, stay updated on therapeutic developments, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Responsibilities
1. Project Delivery:
o Provide strategic direction and manage tactical delivery of scientific content.
o Act as editorial lead for accounts, serve as main client contact, and provide quotes for costing.
o Review scientific content, brief and delegate to writers, monitor quality, and ensure alignment with client objectives.
o Liaise with clients and internal teams to meet specifications and expectations.
o Mentor junior writers and support their development.
2. Business and Commercial Planning:
o Apply knowledge of pharmaceuticals to account and publication plans.
o Participate in meetings, support business development, and stay informed on therapeutic areas and publishing issues.
3. Financial Management:
o Monitor adherence to budgets and utilization rates.
o Accurately record time and contribute to revenue targets.
4. Organizational and Teamwork:
o Develop junior staff, provide coaching, and support team collaboration.
o Attend meetings and contribute to team initiatives.
o Optionally manage up to two direct reports.
Qualifications
Essential: Proven medical writing skills, high accuracy, excellent communication, mentoring ability, client interaction experience, teamwork, organizational skills, proficiency in MS Office, Life Science degree.
Desirable: MSc or PhD, CMPP accreditation, broad therapeutic knowledge.
