About the role
The Planning & Environmental team handles a variety of contentious and non-contentious matters as a cohesive national team. Fee earners work across the country, gaining exposure to diverse projects and collaborating with colleagues across offices.
Key responsibilities include advising on matters such as:
* Complex planning applications
* Section 106 agreements
* Section 278 agreements
* Planning advice for major development schemes in waste, affordable housing, and private sectors
* Acting for planning authorities on CPO work
* Enforcement issues, High Court litigation, and public inquiries
* Planning and environmental due diligence for transactions
* Advising on contaminated land and remediation liabilities
* Advice on invasive and protected species
* Environmental impact assessments
Additional responsibilities
Building and maintaining client relationships through networking and marketing, supporting less experienced colleagues, and sharing technical knowledge.
About you
The role requires good post-qualification experience in Planning & Environmental law, strong technical understanding, and excellent client liaison skills. The candidate should be motivated, enthusiastic, commercially aware, and innovative, with a reputation as a positive team member. Business development experience and a positive approach to client acquisition are advantageous. Independence in managing files with support from senior colleagues is expected.
