About the Role
Connex Education is recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants on behalf of a well-regarded secondary special school in Northolt. The school caters for young people with moderate and severe learning difficulties, including those in Key Stage 3 provision for Year 7 pupils at an additional site nearby.
The school offers a broad, personalised curriculum to meet the needs of each learner, with exceptional outdoor and woodland learning spaces and strong community links. Key Responsibilities
1. Provide 1:1 and group support for students with a range of SEND
2. Assist teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons
3. Support pupils’ communication, social, and emotional needs
4. Help create a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment
5. Build supportive and trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
6. Work under the guidance of teaching staff to implement individual learning plans
Assignment Details
7. Full-time: 32.5 hours per week
8. Monday to Friday, term time only
9. Long-term roles starting September
10. Opportunity for ongoing or permanent employment
Person Specification
11. Must have previous experience working with young people with SEND
12. Ability to relate well to both children and adults
13. Positive, enthusiastic, and resilient with high energy levels
14. Experience dealing with challenging behaviour.
15. Able to follow instructions while also taking initiative when needed
16. A current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through Connex
